The Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health Information Network (REACH IN)

REACH IN is an Internet-based tool developed for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The system is used by REACH 2010 grantees for data entry, storage, management, retrieval, and reporting and interactive graphing functions.

I was responsible for conducting a heuristic evaluation to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. I then worked to define requirements for a redesign, rework the information architecture, and create site mockups. I then created HTML wireframes to guide development. We then conducted usability testing with grantees and reported our findings to the client. A new site was launched with improved design, usability, and functionality.
